How it works

Guess2Give is an exciting. new, easy and fun way to raise money for charity.

Here’s how it works…

  • Anyone can set-up a Guess2Give fundraising page, it’s FREE and only takes a few minutes
  • A Guess2Give fundraising page can be set-up for any event or occasion (anything you can measure) … such as a walk, run, cycle, swim, triathlon, or a wedding speech
  • You can set-up your own event… so we’re looking forward to seeing how inventive people can be with it!
  • Friends pay £3 to guess the result of the fundraising event. They can make multiple guesses and additional charity donations
  • 50p from each guess goes to the prize fund
  • Including gift aid, over £2 from each guess goes to charity
  • The friend guessing closest to the result wins the cash prize!
  • There’s no limit to the prize fund, so the more friends you involve the bigger the cash prize!

It’s an online sweepstake that raises money for charity.

And there’s NO cost to charities. No sign-up fee. No monthly or annual fees.

It’s a true win-win-win.

  • A win for the fundraiser… helping them raise more money
  • A win for their friends. Each guess is just £3 and they have the chance to WIN the cash prize!!
  • And the biggest winner is always the charity… as they always get the majority of the money.

A Guess2Give ‘special’ event

  • A Guess2Give special event allows multiple guesses to be made on a single result. For example, 2 or more people could guess on the same time for a half marathon
  • It’s important to note that the prize fund will be shared equally amongst everyone who selects the winning result.
  • Special events are set-up by Guess2Give for celebrities and large organisations to maximise the number of people who can participate, the amount of money that can be raised, and potentially the prize fund that could be won.
  • Special events have to be activated by Guess2Give and cannot be set-up in the main system. To request a special event click here to fire up our pre-written email.
  • Typically the results of special events will be established by the event organisers or independently adjudicated to ensure it is correct.
  • The winner(s) will be the Guesser who guesses on the exact result or closest to that result. If the results falls equally between 2 guesses the lower of the 2 results will be declared the winner(s).

It works alongside existing online donation channels…

Guess2Give has been designed to be a bit of fun, to work alongside existing online donation channels to engage your wider social network and help raise more money!

So you can set-up your usual online donation page well ahead of your event, and then set-up a Guess2Give fundraising page 3 to 4 weeks before the event, when the majority of online donations have already been made.

Guess2Give will provide the final boost to your fundraising and will help further engage your friends about the event or activity. They’ll really want to know how you got on as they’ll be checking to see if they won.

How did the idea come about?

Mark (Co-founder of Guess2Give) had 3 triathlons lined up and wanted to raise money for his charity, BUT a charity is a tough place to raise money.  Really tough, there must be a request to sponsor someone almost every day.

Mark came up with the novel idea of running a sweepstake on each event. He asked his colleagues, friends and family to guess how long it would take to complete each triathlon (ultimately Ironman), and it worked. It really worked, raising £300+ for his charity. And when Tim tried it, it worked too.

We’ve taken that simple winning idea online so that it’s available for everyone.

Please enjoy Guess2Give responsibly.
