Make a guess – if you are not logged in

These steps explain how to make a guess if you are not logged in. You can make a guess directly from the HOME page or from your account if you have previously registered with Guess2Give.

  • Step 1 On the HOME page click ‘Make a guess’ in the Search for a friend box, or from the main menu at the top
  • Step 2 Type your friends’ name in the box and click ‘Search’. Select your friend from the results on the right and click ‘Next’.
  • Step 3 Enter how many guesses you would like to make in the box on the right and click ‘Go’.  You can then enter your guesses in the boxes below and click ‘Next’. If you would like to see all the previous guesses, click ‘See all guesses’
  • Step 4 If your guess has already been taken, you will be provided with the nearest options above and below your guess. Make your choice from the options (or go back to the previous page and enter a new time) by clicking the green arrow, and then click ‘Next’.
  • Step 5 Check your guesses and click ‘Give’. At this point you will be asked to login or to register.
  • Step 6 Add Gift Aid to your donation if you are UK tax payer and click ‘Next’.  This adds 25% to your donation from the government at no cost to you.
  • Step 7 Make your secure payment via debit or credit card

You will then receive an email confirming your guess(es).  It will contain a link to the fundraising page so you can send it to your friends to encourage more people to make a guess, grow the prize fund and raise more for the charity.

Get everyone you know to make a guess

Anyone can make a guess on your page and have the chance to win the prize fund.
Send it to as many people as possible to raise as much money for your charity and make the prize fund grow … which will make more people want to make a guess.

If your page has one of the highest prize funds we will promote it on the home page to help you raise even more for your charity.

We’ve written templates for you to use.  Simply copy and paste them into an email, onto Facebook or Twitter and insert the details about your Guess2Give page.

If someone doesn’t have the link to your page, they will able to find it by clicking ‘Make a guess’ on the HOME page and entering your name.

Registering on the site

To make a guess you’ll need to register with us, which only takes a couple of minutes. You can do this as part of making your first guess, or by clicking ‘Go’ in the log in box on the HOME page.

  • Step 1 Complete your email address. We will verify it is your email address by sending you a code which you must enter into the box that appears on the screen.
  • Step 2 Complete your details and click the ‘verify identity’ button.  This is to check you are a UK resident and over 18.
  • Step 3 Create a password which must be at least 6 characters and contain at least one lower case letter, one upper case letter and one digit. Once you have accepted the terms and conditions, simply click ‘Create account’.

Once your account is created you can make a guess or set up a fundraising page.

Updating your account details

  • Step 1 Login to your account by entering your email address and password. This will open the ‘My account’ page.
  • Step 2 To change your personal details, password or email, simply click the purple ‘Change’ button in each section, make the changes you want and click ‘Save’.

Suspend your account

  • Step 1 Login to your account by entering your email address and password. This will open the ‘My account’ page.
  • Step 2 Click on the ‘Suspend account’ button on the right of the page
  • Step 3 You will be asked to confirm that wish you to suspend your account as you can only enable your account via an email request.

View all of your guesses

  • Step 1 Login to your account by entering your email address and password. This will open the ‘My account’ page.
  • Step 2 Click the ‘View guesses’ tab and this will display a list of all guesses you have made, including the charity it was for and the value.
