How much could I win?

  • There’s the fun… the more guesses made, the bigger the prize.
  • Nobody knows just how big the final prize fund will be, and best of all there’s no limit!
  • 50p from every guess goes into the fundraising page prize fund so the more guesses made, the bigger the prize (and the more money goes to charity).
  • Once you’ve made your guesses, send it to your friends and watch the prize fund grow!

Can I pay with a credit card?

Credit cards are NOT currently accepted on Guess2Give. It can cost you more to make a credit card payment than a debit card payment, because the credit card issuers consider this type of payment a cash advance. We also think it’s important that people don’t go into debt when using Guess2Give. For these reasons we do not accept credit cards.

  • Each guess is just £3
  • You can make multiple guesses

Why can’t I progress past the account registration page?

  • First, there’s a security checkpoint to verify your email address.  An email from Guess2Give containing a 5 digit security code is sent to the email address you entered on the form. You need to enter this 5 digit security code into the box that appears on your screen after you clicked ‘verify email’.
  • Second, Guess2Give is required by law to perform an identity check to ensure everyone that uses the site is over 18 and a UK resident.  A third party supplier first checks the electoral role followed by credit reference agencies (this is not recorded on your credit reference) to verify your identity.  If the third party cannot verify your identity by these methods you will be asked to enter your driving licence or passport number.  If none of these checks prove your identity then we are sorry but you cannot be permitted to use Guess2Give. If you believe the outcome of the identity checks is incorrect, please contact:

Why does Guess2Give need to verify my email address?

  • To ensure no-one sets up an account with an email address that is not theirs

Do I have to know the person to make a guess on their fundraising page?

  • No. You can make a guess on anyones’ fundraising page so if you want to find the fundraising pages with the highest prize fund, go the bottom of the Guess2Give home page where we show the top fundraising pages with the biggest prize fund.

Why can’t I find my friend’s Guess2Give fundraising page?

  • You might have entered your friends name incorrectly, or maybe they have used a nickname for their fundraising page.
  • If you can’t find them on the site, you can ask them to send you a direct link to their fundraising page.

Can I see who has made a guess on the event?

To prevent fraudulent activity on each sweepstake you can’t currently see all the guesses made but we are working with our lawyers to bring this in to a future development release.

Can I make a donation without making a guess?

  • No. You must make at least one guess and then you can make an extra donation as part of the payment process.
  • A bonus of using Guess2Give is that we take zero, nada, nothing at all from the extra donation.  The donation goes straight to the charity minus the credit card transaction fees.

I can’t find the fundraising page that I set-up?

  • If you have completed the set-up of your fundraising page you will have received an email confirming this.  If you didn’t receive a confirmation email then go to the My Account section and click ‘View current events’. If your fundraising page is not shown in there, then there must have been an error during the set-up.

Can I make a guess without making a donation?

  • Yes, but we and the charities on Guess2Give would rather you did give your support in the form of a donation.
  • When you get to the confirmation page you can remove the donation element of your guess, although the charities that Guess2Give was set-up to support highly value your donation, so please donate.

How do I receive my winnings?

  • If you win, we will send you an email.
  • It will contain a link to the Guess2Give website where you will be asked to enter the full name on the bank account you want the winnings to be paid to, along with sort code and account number.  You will not be asked for any other details.
  • Winnings must be claimed within 20 days of being notified.
  • Once we receive your bank details we will pay your winnings within 10 working days.

How long will it take to receive my winnings?

  • Once you have completed your bank details on the Guess2Give site, you will receive your winnings within 10 working days.

How will I know if I’ve won or not?

  • Once the person who set-up the Guess2Give page has entered the end result of their event, we will send an email to everyone who made a guess informing them if they won or not
    Back to top

Can Guess2Give put my winnings onto the card I paid for my guess(es) with?

  • No. Some credit/debit cards do not allow this and some incur high charges. To ensure as much money as possible can be given to charities it is a simpler and more cost effective option to pay winnings direct to your bank account
    Back to top

Can I cancel or suspend my account?

  • Yes. Once you have logged in to your account there is an option called ‘suspend my account’.  In this area you can suspend your account for a period between six months and five years.
  • If you wish to cancel your account with Guess2Give simply email support@guess2give.com requesting your account to be cancelled.

Can I make a complaint?

  • Yes. Once you have logged in to your account, there is an option called ‘make a complaint’. Go to this section and provide the details of your complaint.
  • As a member of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) and the Institute of Fundraising, we follow their Codes of Fundraising Practice and comply with the key principles embodied in the Codes. To read more about the complaints process or to make a complaint please click here.

Can I donate my winnings to a charity?

  • Yes. When you are asked to complete your bank details you will be given the option to give all or some of your winnings to the charity that was chosen by the person who set-up the event.

What if someone doesn’t guess the exact result of the event?

  • Not a problem as the system will choose the person who guessed closest, so there’s always a winner.
  • If there are two guesses exactly the same distance from the end result then the lowest guess is always selected.

The event I guessed on didn’t happen so can I get my money back?

  • The prize fund and all donations are passed directly on to the charity. In the terms and conditions we state that if an event is classified as a DNF (Does Not Finish), which also includes an event not happening for any reason, then the prize fund and the all donations are passed directly to the charity… so the charity is the winner.

What happens if someone tries to cheat?

  • We know that the majority of people are fair and trustworthy and that to cheat family and friends is highly unlikely. We also think that the number of people that would be willing to commit fraud in order to win a small prize fund is very small, but we have externally audited systems in place to identify any possible fraudulent (cheating) activity.
  • We do not want to outline the systems we have in place (for security purposes) but if anyone is identified as cheating then they will have their account suspended, be blocked from using Guess2Give in the future and be reported to the Police.
  • In addition, none of the prize fund will paid to the winner. The chosen charity for the event will receive all of the prize fund and the donations.
  • Please report any suspicious activity here
